We value your business and respect your privacy. We want you to be secure in the knowledge that information you disclose is used for the purpose for which it was collected and not used or disclosed in a manner inconsistent with your expectations. Having a relationship founded on trust with our subscribers is not only good manners, but also good business.

 

What information do we collect?
How do we use Customer Information?

We collect basic customer information from you that enables us to provide our services to you. When you sign up for JetBroadband service, you are required to provide your name, address, telephone number(s), and other relevant billing information. That information is used by JetBroadband and its authorized employees and agents to install, maintain and bill our services.

We may also collect and maintain information about you that enables us to provide you a more personalized online experience, such as your locale and the preferences you indicate with respect to service options. We use this information to provide to you area appropriate weather, news or sports information.

We or our content providers will use your e-mail address to communicate with you about our service, including information about pricing and changes in or additions to our services and policies. We or our content providers may send promotional e-mail messages to you and/or to specific groups of people based on our database of subscriber information (for example, subscribers living in a specific geographic area).

JetBroadband or our content and commerce providers will collect and use billing and shipping information if and when you purchase goods and services online. Billing and shipping information includes your name, email address, shipping address and credit card information. This information is necessary to deliver the service or product to you. When you use a credit card, the basic payment information that you provide is ultimately transmitted to the appropriate financial institution for purposes of processing the transaction. If you are concerned about the reputation and trustworthiness of our content and commerce providers, we encourage you to check the privacy policies of any online vendors you use.

JetBroadband or our content providers will collect the information you provide if you participate in a contest. If you enter a contest you might be required to provide information about how we can contact you. This information will be used to contact you if you win the contest and aggregate information may be used for marketing or research purposes.

JetBroadband will release personal information to the government only as required by law. We will take commercially reasonable steps to protect your personal information though we may be compelled to reveal such details to law enforcement officials in response to a properly-issued court order or legal process in accordance with applicable law.

What JetBroadband will not do with your information.

We will not read your outgoing or incoming email, private chat or instant messages. We store mail messages on our computer systems for a brief period of time and could be compelled to disclose the messages along with personally-identifiable information to comply with a valid court order or if we believe that a state of emergency exists where it is necessary to disclose the information to protect JetBroadband's property or an individuals safety or security.

Neither JetBroadband nor its content providers will send promotional e-mail messages to you if you ask us not to do so. We and our content providers send promotional messages to our members from time to time. However, we will stop sending you such messages if you advise us that you no longer wish to receive them.

JetBroadband will not record any information that you provide to any Web site other than ones operated by us. You should be warned, however, that JetBroadband's Privacy Policy does not apply to Web sites operated by persons or organizations other than ours. So, if you're on a website, you should look for the website's privacy policy and use discretion regarding any information you provide there.

When you participate in forums or public chat sessions.

Public message boards and chat rooms are by definition not private. Posting to a public area is like making a statement in an open meeting. You should only post information in these places if you are comfortable sharing publicly.

What information may be stored in Cookies.

Cookies are files stored on your computer's hard drive that can simplify and improve your web navigation experience. A website may store information about your computer configuration so that it can more efficiently provide information to you the next time you visit. In addition, your browser might save a text file with your username and password so that a website server will recognize you the next time you access the site. As a result, you won't have to log into the site again if you happen to leave and return again later.

We use cookies files to identify your locale and time zone so that you can access information for your local area. Additionally, we use cookies to deliver personalized content based on preferences you've previously chosen on our service. We do not store your name or other personally identifiable information in cookies.

Opt Out List - Disclosure of Personally Identifiable Information by JetBroadband

JetBroadband may make certain disclosures to third parties of personally identifiable information about you.  Disclosures to governmental entities as required by law or a subpoena or legal process are discussed below under the caption, "Disclosure to Governmental Agencies or Otherwise Required by Law or Legal Process."  Under this caption, we address disclosure under other circumstances.  We may disclose personally identifiable information about you with your prior written or electronic consent.  As permitted by the Cable Act, JetBroadband from time to time may disclose, without such consent, personally identifiable information about you if necessary to render, or conduct a legitimate business activity related to, a cable service or other service provide to you.  The kinds of persons or entities to which we may make such disclosures include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:  persons or entities that control, are controlled by or under common control with JetBroadband; billing services, collection agencies and credit agencies; installation contractors, subcontractors, and sales representatives used to market our services, accountants, lawyers, consultants and other professionals we or our affiliated companies use in our businesses; cable programming or content suppliers and program guide distributors.  In addition, if JetBroadband or its affiliates directly or indirectly transfer ownership of or an interest in all or part of the business we conduct, to the purchaser, investor or other party and its attorneys, accountants and advisors. Information we disclose for purposes relating to billing and levels of service usage is generally provided on a monthly basis.  Information for other purposes is provided as it is needed.  As permitted by the Cable Act, we may also from time to time disclose lists of our subscribers to third parties for purposes other than those referred to above.  Those lists may contain your name and address, so long as we have given you the opportunity to prohibit or limit such disclosure and we do not reveal, directly or indirectly, the extent of any viewing or other use of the services we provide to you or the nature of any transaction you make using those services.  This permits us among other things, to disclose your name and address to charities, advertisers, direct mail marketers and telemarketers for use in telephone or mail solicitations, market research or other purposes.  You have the right to elect not to be included on such a list.  If you do not desire to be included on any such list, you may "opt out" by mailing us a letter addressed to; JetBroadband, P.O. Box 768 Rustburg, VA 24588 with your name, address, telephone number and account number requesting to be put on our Non-Disclosure list.  If you use the JetBroadband High Speed Internet service to send or receive e-mail messages or other electronic communication, the ECPA permits us to access the content of those communications.  It also permits us to disclose such information to ad addressee or intended recipient (or his or her agent); to a person involved in forwarding such information to its destination or when it is necessarily incident to providing service or to protect our rights or property; or to any one with the consent of the subscriber or an addressee or intended recipient (or his or her agent).
